There are echoes of the dominant Mochudi Centre Chiefs era as the club makes a strong statement in the transfer market ahead of the new FNB Premiership campaign. Known as Magosi, the Kgatleng giants appear to be rekindling their “galácticos” strategy—once synonymous with their success in the late 2000s.
The club has confirmed a string of high-profile signings this week, with more targets reportedly in their sights. Leading the charge is Comorian striker Ibroihim Youssoff, who joins from African Stars (Namibia) after turning heads with his performances at the recently concluded COSAFA Cup. Youssoff signs a two-year deal and will wear the coveted number nine jersey.
Adding more firepower to the squad, goalkeeper Kabelo Maphakela has rejoined Chiefs on a permanent basis. Previously on loan from Township Rollers, Maphakela signs a new two-year contract after impressing during his initial spell.
Magosi have also secured:
Kgotso Phuti from Extension Gunners, a versatile midfield option
Thabang Selebogo, a fullback from VTM FC, who adds depth in defense
These acquisitions send a clear signal to league rivals that Chiefs are preparing a serious challenge for the 2025/26 season.
